    Grunge was an idea, not a sound.  It was punk's attitude and anti-culture in flannel.  The grunge sound, what is it?  Feedback??? That proceeded Seattle long ago.  So as Ed put it perfectly, rub your teeth and you get grunge.

    Now a "Seattle sound" from the late 80's and through mid 90's,  I can see that.
