Ha!  I need that golden cape!

A few years ago I was looking for a cheap drum machine to use as a backing metronome for playing guitar and now I’m the guy in the golden cape … my bank account (or lack of) can prove it.

It’s been a fun and rewarding journey that has really expanded my relationship with music and sound creation

Rick Wakemen should auction off his capes for charity.

When I was at the RRHOF induction for Pearl Jam, Yes was also inducted. Rick Wakemen gave the best speech of the entire night. He could have been a stand-up comedian. He told some very funny stories. Unexpected.

I thought the same. I may have been more excited for Yes than Pearl Jam.

And as irreplaceable as Chris Squire was, Geddy Lee was the perfect man to play homage for Yes’s performance part of the program.

You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a nice golden cape these days :disappointed:

I'm looking to get a new MIDI keyboard that has knobs and fade control for Ableton.  Looking at the 49 key version of what PJ Paul got.   I have a Faderfox EC-4 midi controller and it is nice to have encoders at hand instead of using a mouse.

It is easy to program as long as you know the CC numbers of whatever device you are looking to control.  I've hooked it up to some guitar pedals with MIDI and have access to hidden parameters.  Which is nice.

If anyone is looking for a good software synth that runs on stand-alone (i.e. don't need a DAW), I can recommend Arturia's Pigments.   Pigments is pretty amazing and has a nice clean layout that helps understand synthesis.   It has over 1400 presets which are fun to go thru.

It usually goes for $200, but during black friday it should go down to $100.  If you already own any Arturia gear, you may be able to get it for $50.

Arturia just released version 5 of Pigments and is on sale until 2/12 for $100 (free upgrade for existing users).  The best thing about the new version is that it cuts down CPU resources quite a bit.
