    that was great. Thanks.

Harper’s energy is so consistently positive. His latest album is great if you’re looking for a great chill guitar album.

    Very cool. Thanks for posting!

Ben opened for my first PJ show in 1996 in Ft Lauderdale. I had no clue who he was at the time, and didn't become a big fan until years later, but I do remember his performance.

He tagged Jeremy at a show I saw. I think the first time I saw him was at pj when he sang indifference with Eddie.  Missed them opening. Good stuff!!!!!

Nice find!  That show in San Jose was in 95 Ben.  ;)
I'll ride the wave where it takes me......
  • BH and the R7 slayed it opening in LA in 2009.  Was blown away.

I was at that show and that was my first time ever hearing BHIC and was blown away by their performance and immediately picked up their record the next day.
  • I saw Ben solo here in Portland back in 2012. He was unbelievable. The crowd was amazing. At one point he said something like, "Portland, Maine? How do you guys even know who I am?" And someone in the crowd yelled out "Pearl Jam". He laughed and said "yup, those guys are awesome. I owe them a lot"  and then went into an amazing version of Indifference.
  • I Didn't know who he was until seeing him night 1 of the 98 Massachusetts show. I couldn't believe how much I looked forward to seeing him night 2. Really enjoy him live when he's with the innocent criminals.

I first saw Ben Harper when he opened for PJ at Randall’s Island in NYC on the 1996 tour. He was outstanding!

I’ve gone on to see Ben at least a couple of dozen more times over the last 25 years — with the Innocent Criminals, solo, and with Charlie Musselwhite. Dude ALWAYS puts on a good show!

I’ve also had the opportunity to meet and speak with Ben a few times, and he is super cool, genuine, and humble.

I’m so happy that PJ introduced me to the man and his music. He’s easily my favorite artist that I’ve seen open for the band.

Ben is awesome. He was at my first PJ show, MSG 2003 night 1. He came out and sang My Own Two Hands as a tag to Daughter and then Indifference later with Eddie. I've heard his and Eddie's cover of Under Pressure on PJ radio and its really good.

What show is the Under Pressure cover with Ed from? I'm not sure if I've heard it.

I've heard him do it with the Relentless 7, and it was fantastic.

I have used The Three of Us or Number Three as my alarm for as long as I can remember. It never gets old waking up to either of those.

Ben is easily one of my all time favorite musicians. Puts on an amazing live show and is a genuinely nice guy.

  • First show was PJ Charlotte 1996! Had no idea who he was, but fell in love with him and the band immediately. Have seen him many times over the years. Such a good show always!
  • Ben is absolutely outstanding. I hope we'll see him at Ohana Fest one of these years.

Has Ed ever commented on naming his 2nd daughter Harper? I always assumed it was at least in part a nod to his friendship with Ben Harper, but I've never heard any mention of that. Maybe there are other reasons too.
