Hey kids! June 30th marks the 33rd anniversary of 1992’s Singles Soundtrack album from director Cameron Crowe’s motion picture of the same name. The soundtrack album came out on Epic Soundtrax. You know it’s a rad label, because they spell it with an “X”!

Soundgarden contributed their fan favorite song, “Birth Ritual” to the album AND performed the track live in the movie! “Birth Ritual” was Matt’s tune which had instrumental parts from Chris and Kim added to it. Chris wrote the lyrics. Chris also contributed the beautiful solo acoustic track, “Seasons” from his Poncier ep.

Other album contributions came from a number of Soundgarden’s friends, many of which were from the exploding Seattle “grunge” scene, this included: Pearl Jam, Mudhoney, Alice in Chains, Mother Love Bone, Screaming Trees, Smashing Pumpkins, The Lovemongers (feat. Heart’s Ann and Nancy Wilson) and Paul Westerberg (Replacements). The album also included a cut from Seattle legend, Jimi Hendrix with the Experience.

A Deluxe anniversary edition was released in 2017 that featured the live version of Soundgarden’s “Birth Ritual” as well as the other tracks from Chris’ Poncier ep, which included “Nowhere but You”, Flutter Girl”, “Missing” and his early acoustic version of the Soundgarden classic which was then spelled, “Spoon man”.

Other contributions to the 2017 Deluxe Edition were from Blood Circus, Mike McCready and Truly (feat. Soundgarden co-founder, Hiro Yamamoto!)

Kick out these here jams, M*F*s!!
    XOND! See less
