I finally got my hands on their Record Store Day release - Live at Plan 9 Records. Really great recording. Been on a DBT kick as of late.
Anyone know where to find more recordings of either early or more recent DBT shows?

They have a ton of bootleg recordings on archive.org. Some or many of the earlier ones are soundboards. There are several iterations of the band, and the sound and singers will change every few years. Some people like the Jason Isbell era best, which overlapped with the run of when John Neff played pedal steel. I dig any of the shows where Shonna Tucker sings a few songs. The current, and most cohesive sounding IMHO, lineup has been intact since 2013 or so. The band did a full in-studio performance of American Band for a radio station after the album came out. It sounds better than the actual album. It's on youtube.
There are also a couple shows from 2009 or so where Patterson was sick and they played without him. Cooley and Tucker alternated songs all nights, and a fan sang Life in the Factory the 2nd night.I'll look up the dates for you.
The best show I attended is out there on fan-made video. The night after the 2016 election. Union Transfer in Philadelphia. Catharsis.
2013 at the Capitol Theater was an epically long show and a fantastic setlist.
I have already have "It's Great to be Alive" which is incredible! I need to check out Live in Austin. I preordered the vinyl for the Cooley, Isbell, and Hood album. I listened to the digital version a few weeks ago which is what got me on this DBT kick. Thank you both!
My favorite DBT albums have been the last three. I need to check out that live performance of American Band.

February 20 and 21, 2009 - Two shows without Patterson. Cooley and Tucker songs all night, both nights.
October 31, 2010 - They dressed up as cops and played their cop songs. Good quality recording. Sounds FM-ish.
This is probably just the tip of the iceberg. Just happened to be some good sounding shows I've come across.
I know they refer to American Band-Unravelling-New Ok as their trilogy, but I think English Oceans is a much stronger and cohesive album than New OK, I feel like it offers a glimpse of what the next two albums would be.

Full band acoustic show. I was lucky to attend this one. The band was in the middle of a regular tour. When they got to the (tiny) venue and saw how small the stage was, they decided to do an acoustic show. I think Jay Gonzalez was plugged in on guitar and also organ of course, but Patterson and Cooley were acoustic. One of my favorite shows ever.
Pro quality video from 2005.

One question, the Live at Plan 9 release, how is the sound? Is it sourced from the soundboard? I’ve seen a few clips from the show on YouTube. The sound was not good. Like to a have show from the Isbell era. I did order the Shoals Theater set.

It’s Great to Be Alive and the Shoals Theater show are tremendous, totally agree. Just got into DBT with American Band, and now have everything.
