EV on the meanings of his own songs...

I just heard Ed say this on a YouTube video and I loved it... I made it my new signature:

"I don't want to tell what the song is about because a lot of these lyrics have been open to interpretation and people have taken them... they've become part owners. And if I were to just explain literally what the song would be about, then that excludes them from being part of it..."

It's what I've been saying all along. The music is yours, and it can be what you want it to be. It's still great to hear what everyone's interpretation is of the music (which is why this part of the message board is so great), but when people say "no, that's not what the song is about at all," this quote is for them.
