I like where this one is headed... Wrote it last night.

“The Spirits”

So your soul is winded 

But you’ve not been walking anywhere… 

You say “I’d give up my habits for forgiveness” 

Only to swear against redemption 

Like a kid who just don’t care… 

Caught you communing with the spirits 

They brought the rain down forty years and nights… 

But you can’t blame someone else 

For never seeing the light…

Sometimes it hides in plain sight

Behind a corner or a cloud…

Waiting for the right

Moment to shine…. 

So your tired of waiting

For a signal or a sign… 

You say “I doubt the authenticity of everyone and everything” 

But judgmental  self-righteous is nothing

If not a golden ticket to loneliness…Not Peace of mind…

Saw you drinking with the spirits 

They dredged up your inner child… 

You were misbehaving like it was going out of style… 

So wild… 

Sometimes it hides in plain sight

Behind a corner or a cloud…

Waiting for the right

Moment to shine…. 

And then again…

Sometimes it never shows…

Yeah…Sometimes it never shows….

Thats just the way it goes…
