52 weeks per year, 2 days a week for weekends: 104 days. Add in stat holidays, roughly 115 days per year.

Multiply that by 4 years: 460 days. Now, I get 6 weeks a year vacation time. So add in those 30 days x 4, and we get 120. Add in my wellness days at 12 per year, 48 days. 638 days off I’m entitled to over a 4 year period.

    570 days is peanuts.

Obviously the 570 days is an exaggerated talking point that surfaces every 4 years typically. However mickeyrat, are you agreeing that the President of the United States, whoever it is, should be away from the job as long as some canadian dude?  Now now mickeyrat, that I completely disagree with.

the "job" of POTUS is a 24/7/365 position. They are ALWAYS  on , can do the job where ever they may be, and rightly so have delegated certain duties to cabinet staff. as designed.

frankly , I believe it wise to "take time away" to maintain some basic grounded humanity and the relationships they had prior to the office.

one fundamental difference here, is biden went to his actual home in Delaware for much of that. Gonna go out on a limb and say he didnt bill the government for USSS accommodations.

this current vacation has the AF1 , the mobile WH , parked on a runway nearby as needed for secure communications or meetings ...

edit to add, it was a "news" channel spouting as you call it "an exagerated talking point" , shouldnt they, in fact all of the news world , just stick to basic facts?

Hahaha, meanwhile the canadian guy got his math wrong.  Priceless.  628, eh.

For example, when I do the canadian equation I am away from work for 640 days over 4 years.  Do I seriously want the President of the United States away from the job for the that long or even close?  My answer is no.

460+120+48= 638 in canada.  Now now, you learn something new every day, eh mickeyrat?  math can be a challenge.

Well, again I personally don't pay any mind to news channels. My point was that every 4 years you hear about how the President was on vacation for xxx days, and the opposite party tries to act like the sky is falling.

My comment probably came across that way to you because it fits your narrative.

    This is a strange phenomenon.

Not really, I am a sporadic poster as well.  I have a very fulfilling life, and I spend my days working on a computer. After that I like to get out and see some friends or hang out with the wildlife and help the sun settle for the day.  Being here all day everyday isn't something to be proud of. Probably not good for one's mental health.  The less time I spend here, the higher opinion I have about Libs.  I challenge you all to spend a full week not visiting this place.  See how you feel after that and report back.
Excellent post. Thank you, seanwon. I too have grown to despise liberals due to these forums, mostly. And a select group at that. Its almost like they feel 30k+ posts is the Pearl Jam forum barometer for who calls the shots. No chance they step away, but sound advice nonetheless.
Oh, this is so sad, battle. Would you care for a tissue?

Hi Juggler! You unfortunately are confused, I am not upset in the least. After all, I get to wake up every morning in the greatest country on Earth and no radicals can change that fact. Happy New Year, Juggler!
But you just said you have "grown to despise liberals due to these forums," (a pearl jam message board) which you joined 5 months ago to, seemingly, only argue about politics. That seems contradictory and a little odd.

Your best bet is to try and not to let these interactions on the internet have so much control over your life.

    Either way, Happy New Year.

    I love you very much.

5- I hope, I plan to acquire at least 1 more investment property in 2025--good. Trump says he will get prices down....almost universally, forecasts call for housing to continue to increase.

6- Never again will we see sub 3% rates--You're most likely correct (low 3's anyway)...however, Trump says he will somehow get them down there again: https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2024-11-06/trump-s-first-broken-promise-will-be-3-mortgage-rates-election-2024

12- Likely not, but we will find out. Correct likely not as Trump's tariffs will be a tax to everyone.

You voted for a guy you don't expect to follow through on his campaign pledges.

Perhaps you're a big Trans issue guy or something.
    I voted for VP Harris.
I understand the rational for evading the substance of the post. Gotta be tough.

Sporadic poster for years and years and years.....since November 6th: nonstop/nonsensical political posting every day and night.....all on a Pearl Jam message board.

And they only have 337 posts.
Only 30,000 to go and I can be in the club?

Here, I’ll help you out, if only to increase my post count. Are these your markers?

1- I don't pay attention to gas prices
2- I don't pay attention to food prices
3- I have no idea why you think car insurance will decrease by 50%, but you do you, Max
4- No shot in hell I am reducing the rent on my rental property

1- I don't pay attention to gas prices ---Trump says he will lower gas prices

2- I don't pay attention to food prices---Trump said he will lower grocery prices and that it would be easy to do so.....then last month admitted he likely will not be able to do so.

3- I have no idea why you think car insurance will decrease by 50%, but you do you, Max----because Trump said he would do so.

4- No shot in hell I am reducing the rent on my rental property--Trump says by deporting millions of people, housing costs will go down.

5- I hope, I plan to acquire at least 1 more investment property in 2025--good. Trump says he will get prices down....almost universally, forecasts call for housing to continue to increase.

Did you mean "rationale" I suppose?

I'm confused, Juggler.  You told me I voted for Donald Trump.  I then politely replied that I voted for VP Harris.  Based off your reply, you think I am making that up?  Oh boy.

You have a great weekend too, Juggler.  Be well.

Your narrative would match the narrative of Juggler.  I am a MAGA, Nazi, blah blah, whatever else you all call Trump voters.  So you assumed based off your narrative that I was ok with Fox News exaggerating the vacation bullshit.  Make sense to you now?  Hope that helps.  See Juggler above, the guy tells me who I voted for, I correct him, and he says I am lying.  Ok, I guess we are done here.

    Get well soon, mickeyrat!

really. I said that?  to my drug fuzzy brain , I've asked several direct questions of you. Ones I felt were straightforward,  asked to gain some kind of understanding. None of which were even acknowledged much less answered.

you've spoken of being lumped in , unfairly, with those of a certain mindset, yes?

ok, then do tell me if you care to address THIS one question, how is it then okay for you to engage in that very same behavior?
