Vinyl having an endless loop at the end?

I was just listening to a swedish vinyl, you won't know which one - unless you have great taste ofc --

-- but when the album ended, and before I could get the chance to turn it off instead of just spinning it was still playing this loop of a this music box thing that was on the end of the vinyl. First time I've heard of that. A friend told me Sgt Pepper by The Beatles does the same thing.

Sgt Pepper:

Any other examples of this? Quite cool.

  • Francis The Mute is the same until the final side. I think it is supposed to represent a continuous piece of music.

The Sgt. Pepper locked groove may have been limited to 1st UK pressings. I've heard it on the 1980 Rarities compilation, but it's not on my Pepper copy. Three others that immediately spring to mind are the Moody Blues 'On the Threshold of a Dream', Vinnie Vincent's 'Invasion' & Def Leppard's 'High n Dry'.

    The Mars Volta- Amputechture

Funny thing about Ænema, it’s a recording of a locked groove in a locked groove.
