    bee girl - you're gonna DIE! this song is easy to adore, even for a guy. i got to hear it live in vancouver last year. : )

    I love hearing the studio version because Ed laughs in it, and you can tell he's laughing at the semi-ridiculousness of the song.... fits perfectly.

    I thought it was nice how they put Bee Girl on Lost Dogs and after a few moments of silence you could hear 04/20/02...thought it was a nice rememberance for Shannon Hoon and Layne Staley B)

    i agree, i have a little chuckle myself at it, good little tune, seems pretty meaningless, yet very true.

    Was the Bee Girl related to Shannon Hoon? I thought I had heard at the time the video was out that it was is sister or something?

    the bee girl eddie is singing about is from the blind melon video 'no rain'. there's a girl dancing around in a bee costume. eddie met her and her mother in '93. i never thought of the hoon-staley thing, though. both of them died from heroin overdoses. a lot of musicians died that way in the 90's and even after. pretty sad.

    edit: sorry i just re-read your post and it's apparent you already know what i just told you. but i don't know if shannon hoon was related to her?? anyone else??

    OK - I just looked it up. The Bee Girl in the video was Heather DeLoach and Mr Hoon is probably rolling over right now. She was not related to him, in fact he disliked her. I must have been confused with the Bee Girl on their album cover. The Bee Girl on the cover is the sisiter of Blind Melon's drummer.

    Well, whaddya know...
    there IS some form of deeper meaning in this song...

    I really thought it was just a ridiculous, but still very nice, song
