How would each of you choose to arrange/order the "main" 10 songs from the Ten Era into one LP (sides A and B )?
FTR, the 10 songs I'm considering are:
- Breath
- State of Love and Trust
- Alone
- Hold On
- Wash
- Footsteps
- Yellow Ledbetter
- Dirty Frank
- Brother (vocals)
- Just a Girl

No offense to the awesome-ness of Lost Dogs, but the re-records just don't fit to my ears. The original b-sides found on Ten/Vs era singles, Singles soundtrack versions of Breath & SOLAT all go together cohesively. I can't remember if the studio "Hold On" was a re-record or not, but I feel like the acoustic "Hold On" from the Vs. reissue fits the "original" era vibe for lack of a better term.

    Here's my suggestion FWIW:

    Wash (45 version)
    Breath (Singles version)
    Alone ('Go' 45 version)
    Hold On (Acoustic, Vs reissue)
Just A Girl (Ten reissue version)

Brother (Original Ten outtake version with vocals, it's out there, and it's awesome)
State of Love & Trust (Singles version)
    Footsteps (Evenflow 45 version)
    I've Got a Feeling (45 version)
    Yellow Ledbetter (45 version)

**I took out Dirty Frank and swapped in I've Got a Feeling.

Ah, a cover....never thought about that.
(Not a Dirty Frank fan, eh?)
I'll have to get my hands on those non-Lost Dogs versions....I believe I know where to find them - I might already have them kicking around somewhere.

I like that sequencing, but to get that authentic feel, I'd probably use the versions of Hold On, Just A Girl, Alone and Brother from the Rarities Unreleased Cuts promo as they are closer to what you'd have expected them to sound like in 1991-93.  I'd also try to put Dirty Frank in there instead of the cover, but it is hard to find where it would fit unless it was a hidden track one minute after Ledbetter finishes.

There's also 2 early versions of Brother with lyrics. Not including the one on the Redux

On RVM State was a different recording to that on Singles but Breath sounded the same. Is there a version of Breath out there that sounds similar to State?

I got hooked on Footsteps from the Jeremy single. I love it so much more than the Lost Dogs version. I know the harmonica adds a bluesy element and was there on TOT but the angst is so intense and stark with just the guitar that I get moved way more than with the harmonica.
