So you're concerned more about the loneliness aspect of the internet? That is compassionate of you. But what are your thoughts on the topic at hand here. Does it concern you that a large portion of the country believe in crazy conspiracy theories instead of the truth?

For example, why on earth do people still think Ray Epps was an undercover FBI agent? With all of the factual information that has come out over the last two years. With him being indicted for his role in Jan 6th. With his defamation suit against Fox News? Etc etc etc. Do you think people just do not want to know the truth? Do you think they actually do know they truth but refuse to admit they believe it? I'm not sure but it seems as if we have a real problem on our hands.

Kari Lake tweeted that our worst fears have become realized. This goes hand in hand with what we've been discussing. Millions and millions of people are being fed this information and are unable to think rationally about it and/or refuse to look to better sources of information.

I agree with you Linda. I think we would be much better off without the internet.  We would certainly have an easier time getting tickets to shows at reasonable prices.

Just read an article from CBC the Canadian government hasn't ruled out terrorism.  I wish the news and government apparatus on our side was not always in a rush for a snap answer.  For all we know this could have been a planned attack.  I would wait for forensic evidence, background on the driver etc. before I made a conclusion.  I'm not convinced one way or the other yet.

Terrorists usually use 2022 Bentleys when planning and executing terrorist attacks. In fact, the Science Guys demonstrated how much more effective a Bentley is versus a Ford Taurus when looking to take out a border crossing. Plus, it allows for more grift when fundraising for a terrorist act as you need more funding. 21 virgins instead of 14 pre/post death. Cha-Ching.

The driver was a 56 year old nearby resident of New York who was driving a $300,000 Bentley on his way home from a casino after the Kiss concert he originally wanted to see was cancelled. Fox spent all day scaring their viewers that it was an act of terrorism by someone who snuck into our country.

A 56 year old man from western NY crashed his car today at high speed near the Rainbow Bridge border checkpoint from the US into Canada. He was reportedly supposed to be at a Kiss concert that was cancelled, so he decided to go to a Niagara Falls casino in Canada with his wife in their $300,000 Bentley. Unfortunately for them, they both died in a fiery crash.

Since Fox News and right-wing Republicans have been anxiously waiting for a terrorist attack related to border security to blame on Biden, the disinformation machine kicked into high gear. A lone Fox News reporter, Alexis McAdams, claimed that she had a source that told her the vehicle was "full of explosives" and that it was a "terrorist attack."

This was the moment right wing politicians, media hosts, and influencers have been waiting three years for. Finally, an act of terrorism connected to the border that they could weaponize for political purposes. 

While these deranged lies were being posted into the toxic right wing social media echo system and on Fox, I was busy screen shotting them for posterity. It was all the usual suspects.

Not that article, the dateline on the one I read was a few hours before this one and didn't have any details about the driver or the car.  And also stated that senior Canadian government officials hadn't yet ruled out terrorism.  It was the first non us news article I could find once I read about this incident on this thread.  Had I not been reading AMT I would have been blissfully unaware of any cars being engulfed in flames today.

So then you can certainly see the stark difference between how the CBC and mainstream media in the U.S handled it verses the right wing ecosphere. A few hours before this article was when Fox and their maga cohorts were in the middle of their fever dreams of an open border terrorist incident. That's the point.
