Binaural cover

The circles on the cover, what do they mean? I've heard "Don't give up". Is this right? Also is this just a pearl jam thing or is it a known symbol? Not sure why but I've always wondered......

    its called Nebula or Nebulae

i learnt it today in school, it was on the video, i shouted out binaural and got in a trouble a bit
its just part of a stars cycle.

Nebula is the start, these are clouds made up of dust and gas

the colours are the gases. Cant remember which colour is which gas, but yeh thats why they are colorus

but dont forget, someone else has this album cover too, cant remember who

if it was dying it would take the form of a blue supergiant and into a red supergiant then a supernova. though our sun is a small star so its just red giant, white dwarf then black dwarf

    hope iam right :)

"The original May 23 release date for "Binaural" -- the CD cover features a Hubbell Telescope color photo of the Hourglass Nebula encircling a dying star 8,000 light years from Earth -- was moved up a week."

Turns out we were both right.

What HE said.. Wearing my Binaural T-shirt as we speak, er type.. The only PJam t-shirt I still own; all the rest I've "outgrown". Gotta get to some more shows, or just hit up a Hot Topic or something..

All I'm gonna say is that article was biased in my opinion. As much as I love the album, Stone was the only one who was really enjoying life at the time. From what I've read, Binaural was a difficult album to make because Eddie was going through problems with his wife, which ended up in divorce, Mike was depressed and on medication, and this was the first album they made with Matt Cameron so everyone was getting used to working with his style. At least that's what I read about the Binaural sessions.
