Anyone received a damage LP? I got mine and it had a pretty deep scratch affecting playback on last 2 tracks of side A.
10C offered to replace if I send pics of the record after I destroy it…just a bummer to wait so long, but glad they’re able to help.here for the music...0 -
The soundtrack to Sean Penn's new film "Flag Day" shows once again that Eddie Vedder can always be relied upon, whether with his band Pearl Jam or, as in this case, solo. Together with the musicians Glen Hansard and Cat Power, with whom he has often worked together in the past, and his 17-year-old daughter Olivia Vedder, he has created a series of breathtakingly beautiful songs. Personally, I didn't approach the record with particularly high expectations, so I was very pleasantly surprised. The album is light, perhaps a bit melancholy and dreamy now and then, so that you are quite quickly drawn into the tender folk sounds of the father-daughter duo. For me, it's an absolutely well-functioning and coherent album all around. I had to listen to it twice in a row because the atmosphere coupled with Eddie's strong voice totally captivated me. By the way, REM's hit "Drive" is covered here and even though I'm basically not a fan of cover songs at all, this one is absolutely successful.
My conclusion: I haven't seen the film and therefore can't judge how the songs work as film music, but I'm one hundred percent sure that the album can stand and be appreciated absolutely independently of it.
