    24 years old mid-life crisis, these days it hits you when your young. Hell yeah I have a burned import copy of Lost Dogs and was dissapointed when that song didn't find it's way onto the US release.

    I've wondered whether this was something deeply personal or just a very real-sounding, which is to say good, story. Perhaps an old girlfriend? Definitely not his wife, as I assume he broke up with her for the lingerie model.

    I agree though, not that I want to pry into the guy's personal life or anything, but it helps in thinking about songs like Light Years, Gone, I'm Still Here, Come Back, etc.

    The entire "spoken word" has been printed here before. Do a search for it. A lot of people called it "untitled" for awhile - whatever that means. It's heart wrenching. And yes, it's about Beth.
    We're still making records for people who listen to it all the way through, eyes closed, in that space.

    i believe ed and beth split up quite some time ago, they were certainly done by the time lost dogs was released. it was around then he began dating the model jill kelly. they have a daughter together now.

    however, whether or not the song is about beth i have no idea.

    it's a good tune. i should listen to it again but it might hit a little too close to home.

    Ed and Beth split up in 2000. I don't think he hooked up with Jill McCormick till 2004.

    jill kelly is not a porn star. there may be a porn star going by that name, but it's not the girl ed is with. she's a model. it was slightly surprising at first, but 2 things make it diff from a "show biz" relationship. 1) i imagine it's tough for someone like ed to be able to meet, let alone relate to, people who havent experienced the kind of fame he lives with. if i were him, id always kinda wonder if jane doe from the local grocery or whatever REALLY loved me, or loved the idea of being with a super famous rockstar. 2) they dont exactly do the red carpet thing. no public photo ops, album premiers, etc. they keep a very low profile so it's not like a status thing like kid rock always showing up places with the flavor of the moment.

    i dont know much about the goings on of the guys just as long as everyones ok and enjoying playing to fans like us playing proper rock n roll with a positove intent
