And now eBay is selling show editions for over $100 each when they are still available in the shop for $35.  Classy!

It happens every damn time. Don't be surprised. People try to justify their 10C membership costs, I guess. I can only hope they get pulled from their memberships. Then again, flippers don't mind.. they'll be back at it with a new credit card.

I'm sure "SoldOutPosters" is one of the sellers. I'm sure you can buy an "Endless War" from them for only $120.

So true. A new number will still get you merch.

  • To be fair ebay allows the preselling of items as long as the item will arrive within 30 days.

The issue isn't whether ebay allows it, it's more about the morals/ethics of buying for the sole purpose of flipping.

Nothing really immoral or unethical about it, in my opinion......

This is the same speculative buying as people that buy stocks and sell higher the same day....house or real estate flippers......or just about anything else that involves the effort and knowledge to buy something and then sell for a profit later.

It doesn’t really matter what the item is or how long you hold onto it before you sell.

Mostly agree, but this is a little more like shooting fish in a barrel. Real Estate and stocks sell at market prices, so it takes actual skill to find undervalued properties and make a profit. Artists often intentionally price concert tickets, merch, etc., below market value so as not to alienate their fans. Then the flipper steps in and reaps an instant guaranteed profit having added nothing of value to the product and with no skill other than being able to click a mouse faster than the average fan. I can see why it rubs people the wrong way. I don't really blame them for taking advantage of the opportunity though. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

Well with the way USPS is running right now, there’s no guarantee they will get their posters in 30 days...

I know this is true, but not always. I’m in no way bragging, but I was able to get the Ames Baltimore, then went back and saw there were variants and grabbed one of them. I don’t have a bot. I use my phone and do practice runs earlier in the hour. Oh, and Apple Pay is a game changer.

However, I’m also always out of luck for any Dan Mumford prints. His site doesn’t load correctly on my phone or computer. By the time I see anything for sale they’re long gone.

Wish I had done that with the Ames. Instead I did a victory dance for my regular, not realizing there were variants probably still available 😂😭

Lol. I did a little fist pump after I got the regular and then went back to see if they were sold out. That’s when I noticed the variants.

Another clue was when Ames said Baltimore posterS for sale. That had me thinking that there might be a variant, but in the thrill of the moment I totally forgot.
