Just in case the word socialism put you off here is what the community represents.

” The SRA describes the goal of their organization as "to provide an alternate to the mainstream, toxic, right-wing, and non-inclusive gun culture that has dominated the firearms community for decades. We seek to provide a safe, inclusive, and left-leaning platform for talking about gun rights and self defense, free from racist and reactionary prejudices, while providing a platform for the working class to obtain the skills necessary for all aspects of community defense".[22]The group describes itself as "working class, progressive, anarchist, socialist, communist, eco-warrior, animal liberator, anti-fascist, anti-racist, anti-capitalist, PoC, LGBTQ-plus".[23]

I’m not an expert unfortunately.  It is the only alternative that I know of to the NRA.  I can ask my friends and learn more.  I’m guessing that they wouldn’t use their guns to liberate anything unless it was actually needed, but I could be wrong.

My best guess is that they are about as likely as some NRA guys to rise up against a tyrannical government.

Which, of course, is a farce.  Nobody is going to overthrow the government.  That kind of effort would be squashed in a flat minute.  The whole "arm yourself to protect yourself against the government" thing is a fantasy.

Exactly my point.  I just see the SRA as a gun club for lefties.

I'm not one to think that we will see the time when civilians are at war with our government, but then again, things just keep getting more tense and divisive.

This is true.  I think what we may see is an escalation in the conflict between BLM and other protesters and far right nationalist types- maybe even to the point of some lethal violence- but an outright civil war with large numbers of casualties and massive military type fighting?  I doubt it.  Most people have no interest in getting involved in that sort of thing- only a very small percentage of people will go that far.  I know I won't, and very few people if any that I know and am close to would.  I just don't see it happening.  I sure hope not anyway.

There's a local gun shop here that used to never be busy.  Lately, there seems to be a lot of people shopping there.  Scary shit, especially considering how gun crazy Hell Dorado County is.

That's smart.  Get out of unfriendly NY and go somewhere you are appreciated.  File bankruptcy so you can't be sued.

    All good.
