Hell, I'm guessing, but...it feels appropriate to the point in a ended relationship we're it's all over, we've been over it and talked it through too many times, but we're still doing that endless conversation about why it didn't work. And "I don't wanna know your plans, but together share the dawn," is referring to the age-old mistake of regretful after-the-breakup sex. Come on, baby, for old time's sake.
Then she gets pregnant. Okay, I made that part up.
Go on, prove me wrong...When you're married, you'll understand the importance of fresh produce.0 -
The lyrics inside my cd say, "I don't want to know your past, but together share the dawn."0

I think it is: "I don't want to know your past, but together share the dawn."
My interpretation is that she's still haunted by past mistakes, regrets, etc. He's telling her he doesn't need to know where's she's been, or what she's done, because regardless, he wants to share a future with her. There's a light when my baby's in my arms0 -
Is it a one line song? What are the full lyrics? Could someone just post them. There is no such thing as leftover pizza. There is now pizza and later pizza. - anonymous

Why deny
All the troubles when combined
With the missing links
It don't feel like
Home now,...
That you're gone
All the troubles
suddenly explained infinitum
You're always wishing and
Never here at
Home
You
All the dreams we shared and
Lights we turned on
But the house is getting dark
And I don't want to know your past
But together share the dawn
And I won't need
Nothing else
Cause when we're dead
We would've had it all
And died
I would've fallen from the sky
Til you
Parachutes have opened now
Heaven knows if there's a ceiling
come so low with the kneeling
Please know that
I got
All the friends I'm needing
Before my light goes out
As the doors are closing now
And far away will be my home
And to grasp this, I don't know
And I don't need
Further back and forth, a wave will break on me today
And love,... Wish the world could go again with love
One cant seem to have enough
And war,.... Break the sky and tell me what it's for
I'll travel there on my own
And love,.... What a different life
Had I not found this love with you
This song kindof flips back and forth to me between wanting to be with the person, and yet, the protagonist has friends to lean on in time of trouble that can be relied on which do not include the addressed person. The tone kindof sets it up for a love song, but maybe it's more ironic, because it's kindof a quirky song for a love song, eh? Has elements of a one-night stand in it just from the referenced line in all the previous posts. Actually, it can be pretty straight forward that this is person in front of the protagonist is only needed for sex. Particularly with
"Heaven knows if there's a ceiling
come so low with the kneeling" It's as if the human characteristics that play into this scene are primative as opposed to spiritual. There is no such thing as leftover pizza. There is now pizza and later pizza. - anonymous

You know what we haven't considered? That this is from the woman's perspective? Usually I think this song is from a man's perspective, but it made more sense when from the woman's perspective. What do you think? There is no such thing as leftover pizza. There is now pizza and later pizza. - anonymous

I agree with comeback girl on the interpretation. I think he doesn't care about her past but she can't get past it.0

never crossed my mind
song seems to lack any real reference as to gender roles though0 -
i think its about getting over the past
a new beginningHad my eyes peeled both wide open, and I got a glimpse

It seems a bit complicated, like the pair are going back and forth to get their relationship organized, but overall it's a love song.
Just based on the lines quoted above...not wanting to worry about the other's past but wanting to get started on their future.&&&&&&&&&&&&&&0 -
Now, if we were just to focus on that one line as it if was etched in space . . . Shakespeare would be proud! Talk about the same type of carpe diem attitude Shakespeare uses in many of his sonnets. There is no such thing as leftover pizza. There is now pizza and later pizza. - anonymous
