In Comatose, with the part....

High above,... I'll break the law,... If it's illegal
To be in love,... Leave the hatred,.. On the cross

This could be way off, but...
Any way this song could be about someone who's homosexual ? I mean, gays aren't allowed to have weddings in our country and a lot of people's beliefs about gay marriages and gay relationships are based on the Bible and Christianity.

    that's an interesting interpretation, I haven't really thought too much about meanings of the songs on the new album. any thoughts on what the rest of Comatose is about?

    I guess the "usual" interpretation might be that it's about a soldier who's out in war fighting as a machine with not much conscience. He's just used for the purpose of war. I don't know....good lyrics allow multiple interpretations

    yeah, and Ed is good at that with his lyrics. Mostly I've thought of 'comatose' as a tribute to the Ramones. Perhaps sedated turned inside out. Nearly anything written is open to a social interpretation, if that is your inclination.

    my take on the song is that it's about that movie "The Island", where the clones are bred as organ donors for their counterparts "high above"

    Hear me out on this one

    "consider me an object, put me in a vacuum". the clones are looked at as just objects even though they are taking on human characteristics

    "high above, i break the law, if it's illegal to be in love" ewan mcgregor's and scarlett johanson's characters "break the law" by falling in love and leaving the compound, going "high above" to the surface of earth

    i know it's a stretch, but when i first heard the lyrics this is the first thing that came to my mind
