So funny^ same. I backed into sabbath. From Dio backwards.
Once I started finding out ozzy sabbath was more than iron man my mind was blown. This also intersected with my experimental mind altering substance phase. A match made in [hell] heaven.
Slowly entered ozzy sabbath when I found their 1st record for 10 bucks in a music store. They were all cd store, but had a couple leftover used crates of vinyl. That record had a slightly different track list than cd. Forget what additional song that is on the wax.
Then picked up Sabotoge cd and SBS Master of Reality V4. Never say die got later on wax. Technical E too on lp. I might have gave that one away.
Recentlyish, I scored a lot of there stuff on vinyl and it really is like hearing it all over again. The depth and tones go so deep.

Anyway thx for bumping this and unearthing all these great memories attached to the music and that time in my life.

early 80's like 81 or 82. had recently begun listening to classic rock station in C-bus. Q-FM 96.

Received a single speaker radio/tape player. I spent weeks trying to catch iron man from the earliest note. got real close and said good enough. was 13 yo..... listening to that devils music in my friends staunchly christians parents house. it was glorious....

Sold Our Soul for Rock n Roll was one of the first ten records on vinyl that I bought as a teen. Can't say I ever listened to their early records in their entirety. I also liked the Dio years - I liked Mob Rules. Dio seemed to be everywhere back then. Ozzy went solo just after I got into Sabbath. Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman hooked me on Ozzy more than Sabbath. Those two tours were fantastic.  Randy died just before the Diary of Madman show in Hartford. We got Brad Gillis from Night Ranger instead.  :s

Ahh. Funny. Give ozzy sabbath some undivided attention. If it doesn't click that's fine. I feel like sabotage especially is a masterpiece.
Read somewhere that sabbath bloody sabbath was recorded in a castle dungeon. Maybe?

There was a time when bong hits and listening to Sabbath worked for me. I get it and every now and then I put them on. But I am more likely to put on the Blizzard than any Sabbath record. I do think Sabbath sounded great on the last reunion tour.

Blizzard is fantastic too!  With the exception of no bone movies. Don't love that one. Maybe hits too close to home :/
So much music. We are lucky.
