Sad songs seem to have soul. Angry songs too. Happy songs seem to miss the soul. Some happy songs are cool, like Jason Mraz but his lyrical phrasing is what I like about him. Taylor Swift is cool both ways. But I’d say 97% sad and angry, 3% are just damn catchy.

All kinds of songs:
-Story telling songs. This is what the best song writers write.
-Songs that sound upbeat or almost happy but have sad lyrics.
-Angry songs that have/give positive energy.
-Melancholy songs that make the heart ache and yearn.
-Funny songs but only if they are clever and smart rather than just plain silly.
-Mind altering or altered-mind songs that are well crafted but not dumb and dopey.
-And of course, broken heart songs.
"Don't give in to the lies. Don't give in to the fear. Hold on to the truth. And to hope."
Where the hell is the angry songs option?!? I mean C'mon!!!
I know. I screwed up.
Let's fix this so you can feel better about this cool thread idea! Make a new and improved thread. I'm sure Brian wouldn't mind if you borrowed some of his magnificent song types. What do you say @Malroth ?
