I don't understand why many love it. Clue me in please.

Hopefully we can have a discussion without yelling at eachother.

I like it because it because it's very different from the rest of the catalogue and the guitar sounds amazing. Also, the vocals perfectly fit the instrumental music.

I've got some very specific reasons for digging this song:

~It's atypical. I always appreciate it when an artist steps outside of his/her box and goes somewhere unexpected.

~It's distinctly groovy. G-R-O-O-V-Y! Not a standard adjective given to a rock band or their music.

    ~It makes my hips move.

    ~The organ is just nasty.

~ I can see this song being taken to the dance floor.

Like I said....some very specific reasons why I dig this song!

This broken wheel is coming undone
    And the roads exploding
    But you're keeping me strong
    Rolling along with you,...

    Love is a tower
    And you're the key
    Leading me higher
    When you let me in

    Keeping us close,... so close
    On down the line

Sometimes I burn like a dot on the sun
    With no one knowing
    But you're keeping me strong
    Rolling along with you

    You are a tower of
    Strength to me
    The darkening hour
    Sees light again

Ooh wah, ooh wah, ooh wah, ooh wah, ooh wah
Ooh wah, ooh wah, you are... you are

    Love is a tower
    Of strength to me
    I am the shoreline
    But you're the sea

    You are.

The lyrics may be a bit on the simple side, but definately heart-felt and pretty far from "terrible."

    To each their own :)

Love the guitar work as well, but the boots I have this song and why go just don't translate well on live recordings maybe it's just the shows I have. Anyways love the last lines " I am the shoreline, but you're the sea"

the effect on the guitar is something like a roto-... i forget. a rotovibe, rotogroove. i'm probably way off. a very amazing odd song for pj. when i heard Riot Act, this stuck out right away. in a good way.

"i am the shoreline but you're the sea" i love it.

Funny that you say bon jovi because someone in a thread about come back said the same thing I just don't see it.

Funny, I never like the song til I heard it live. I don't think the album version has the same groove as the live versions do.
