A sheet of Hendrix stamps was $7.84 when they came out and are going for two to three times that now.  I'm holding on to mine!

If you rely on postmarks when casting your ballot, filing your taxes or paying bills, a new US Postal Service rule makes it clear that you should plan ahead. https://cnn.it/4smg40p

My sister told me about this.  Because we always pay ours bills a bit ahead of time and often file for an extension on taxes, I'm not very worried about those issues.  But the mail in ballot issue is a major concern.  This could really affect what happens next November.  I hope everyone here who cares about that reads the article.  At the very least, please understand how important it is to get you ballots in ASAP, and tell your friends about this.

I can’t remember the last time I used the mail to pay bills or taxes. But you are right that the mail-in ballots for the election may have some issues.

three years ago i mailed my personal property tax check to the st. louis county office. it is like 1.5 miles down the street from me. it is due on 12/31 and i mailed it in early december. they did not receive it for three months, and i got an $80 fine for late payment. now i go into the office personally and deliver my check. the fucking post office took over 3 months to deliver something about a mile and a half from me. i do not trust them at all any more.

There is a USPS thread on another site I visit.  It has gotten a lot of similar post from people who have had post office issues.  I honestly don't know if it's a regional thing or if I'm just one of the luckiest people in the U.S., but in all my years, I've only had one USPS issue worth mentioning- the loss of a signed Jimmy Buffett book that I sold shortly after he died.  Our local P.O. postmaster went out of his way to help me track it down, but it was never found.  The customer was fully refunded of course, but he was very unhappy.  I lost a really good sale, but that's on me for forgetting to insure the shipping (which I always do now for anything over $35 of value).
Other than that, in the over 20 years I've been selling books through biblio.com, not a single problem, and no problems with personal mail ever (and I mean ever).  It's hard to imagine that's all due to luck.  I think has to be that some parts of the country just have a more poor level of service than others.
So for me personally, the USPS is a godsend.  I'm truly sorry others like yourself have had bad experiences.  That sucks.
