I watched...it was a good time seeing his fans get full exposure and appreciation for Nirvana through Post Malone. His "All Apologies" cover from live shows in the past is still better than anything else Nirvana he has done (including this stream), but it was fun nonetheless!

Didn't really have any intention of watching this but am listening to it now. Wow, I'm pretty shocked of how good it is. Much respect, Mr. Malone

  • I wanted to not like this based on nothing. All I know of him is he has face tattoos and that song Circles. But I must say, it was cool to watch. Very faithful to the source material. Sounded good

I tried to listen to White Iverson yesterday but I couldn't deal with the autotune. he mentioned he couldn't sing and uses autotune cause he can't which i laughed at. Least he called himself out on it. I think he's a better "Rockstar" than rapper. Also I like the nod of the "dress" Post and the guitarist were wearing to Kurt

I've only ever listened to a couple of his originals, and couldn't really get past the autotune, I watched this out of curiosity, and I'll be dammned, this was excellent, totally captured the raw spirit of Nirvana.  This dude is so popular right now, he could single handedly bring rock music back in fashion.

On a side note, I have seen a couple of interviews with him, and I can't help feeling there's an underlying sadness behind all the joking, plus I think it takes a certain type of psychology to want to obliterate your face with tattoos.  It leaves me with an uncertainty about what his future might hold.

If anyone cares, Post Malone regularly busts out a guitar at his concerts and does rock songs.  He did a great version of All Apologies.

Also I just noticed that it's Travis Barker from Blink 182 on drums for that Live Stream.

    Cool as hell.

I watched the replay, those guys ripped it up!!!  Nice set list too!

I read Krist Novoselic was ndig’n it too.  If you like Nirvana’s music, it’s definitely worth checking out.

Nice job Post, Travis, (I didn’t catch the bass and other guitarist, but they were damn good too!).  Hats off to them and a thank you!

Maybe PJ can give it a shot next?  The home concerts are a good distraction and fun to watch during these trying times!

    Be well all!

I think there is a bigger chance Post does a PJ-concert. Hehe.

You’re probably right, but one can dream...

I’d be interested in seeing him cover some PJ though too.

Interesting, to me he usually sounds like a singer trying to rap with his original stuff. But with autotune applied I get it

I always find it interesting when someone that does genres I don't appreciate crosses over into genres I do appreciate.   I can't really judge talent on pop music because it's not really my cup of tea.  Then to see pop (or hip hop) artists do something that only requires singing and instrument(s).  It can be interesting watching the outcome.
