BEST "Daughter" version

Obviously there are MANY versions of the song Daughter done live. This question may have been previously asked, if so I apologize. I havent been on the board in a while.
What's ur Favorite Live version?

Anyhoo,

I am going to try and get all the version (live) from my collection. Usually around the 2:57 mark of each LIVE version, the Alt version kicks in...ie: it's OK, the wall, no war, whatever.... and I'm going to make those portions into 1 GIGANTIC song..... all based from a 2-3 minute piece in the middle of Daughter.

Dont know how I can get if to my fellow Pearl Jammers, but we'll see how it comes out first.
Listened since day one when "Ten" was released in 1991...and haven't stopped....

  • I love the Philly 2000 Hold On version or the

Touring Band DVD It's Ok version from New York.

    Both incredible.

I've got a Gibson without a case, but I can't get that even tanned look on my face...
  • I vote Virginia Beach 2000 with It's OK for the jam session.

The show before this one was the one where the 9 people died during Daughter. It's really good.

So, if anyone would like to share please pm me. I can share any song from the last 3 gorge shows or vancouver 2005. Thanks

I just got Live at the Showbox on Saturday and I have to say theat the Daughter with "WAR" tag at the end is the best version I have heard. Maybe it was because I got to see the passion & conviction in EV's face as he sang/screamed NO MORE at the end.

It was very moving to watch. Hard to believe that was 6 years ago......and look where we are now....still fighting.

My little sister is 16 now, and when she turns 18 our Aunt wants her to go to school in California. I've been aching to move to Seattle for quiet some time now, the weather is perfect for me because I have some brain trauma and the hot sun that we have here in Hawaii is really a brain drainer. "How much difference does it make?" I think it would make a wonderful difference for my sister and I to move to Seattle, we have access to all the resources and most all of our family lives in Northern and Southern California, so maybe we'd get a chance to see them more often. I'm 37 and I've lived on these islands for most of my life (except for 5 years in Los Angeles after graduation,) and I'm once again getting rock fever. Eddie, you get rock fever?

I'm new here, live from Holland near Amsterdam.

My favourite song is Daughter because all the live versions i know are never the same. It's a brilliant music and lyrics combination.

For me the best live-version is that one on the Atlanta 1996 3-CD box.

There they play Pink Floyds Another Brick in the Wall.

Man, that is for me the best version ever....also my first Live Experience of the band

Hi, my name is Javier and I'm from Argentina, I don't think that the version that appears in the bootleg Act of love qualifies for this thread but it's a nice version of the song "Daughter", but the thing is that I am looking for the lyrics of that tag because I don't know which is that song, if anyone happens to know that song, please let me know too... and of course the Gorge version is defenitely the best and the most touching version and tag: I have a friend who has a bar in downtown, and one night I played the gorge version there, at top volume, in fact, it was about 7am in a sunday morning, we were quite drunk by the time, he has never heard that version, and we began to weep because of the emotion and because listening to that live song remind us the two concerts Pearl Jam gave here in Buenos Aires, we've been expecting over 12 years to see the band perform in our country... the waiting drove us mad... it still does... anyway, whoever read this message please, if you know about that tag, let me know... thanks a lot, javis

  • Showbox 12/6/02. No contest. Watching the video for the first time almost brought me to tears. Ed has never been more intense on stage ever than he was during that tag. Fucking brilliant.

But I also am partial to all of the europe 2000 versions. Mostly because of the sound of the boots. I think it fits the song perfectly.
