I haven't seen any love for this song yet, so I decided to make a post on it. I actually don't know entirely what the song is about, so maybe you guys could fill me in on it?

  • I like Even flow, very much. But this is my second post so you would know that about me... Even flow is very uplifting to me, I think it's about people stressing over things, trying to get things done and not taking the time to lay back and think about things.

"It was a kind of a sick, disturbed rock opera - if Nietzsche were to write a rock opera,"-Jeff Ament about Eddie's first three songs

I've had enough, said enough, felt enough, I'm fine now.

  • I got a bootleg from 92-93 era and just before they play it Ed says something like "So how many of you came down here in limos ? It's truly great when your in a limo and you can look out @ all the homeless people. Next time your in your limo I dare you ta take a drink of that free alcohol in them. This song's called Evenflow" Ok wtf is Ed ranting on about limos homeless free alcohol? Always wondered about it.
    some die just to live...
  • I think he was saying how greedy those people are, having free drinks and a warm car while people are out on the street starving.

i think he was commenting on the paradox of one being in an unneccessarily luxurious vehicle with unneccessary ammenities while there are people freezing and starving to death outside on the street. kinda saying these people have no conscience. i could be wrong though
i have wished for so long, how i wish for you today

  • I remember when I first heard and got into Pearl Jam... it was when I was in 7th grade.. I was at my friends house and our other friend had burned Ten and V.S. for us, so we were blasting it out in his garage.. Even Flow was the first song that was played... I was stunned. I thought that it was such a fucking awesome song. I brought Ten and V.S. home later that week.....
And about a year later they were my favorite band and still are today.

Check out 'The Porch'....there's quite a large thread on it there. :)
