When PJ starts playing live again, Ed is going

to need a teleprompter for sure. He struggles enough remembering lyrics but I think with this album specifically it is going to be enough tougher. I read people talk about some of the songs being "too wordy". I understand what they are talking about. Unthought Known, Betterman, Jeremy etc.. All kinda easy to sing and remember words. Whoever Says, SBWM, Comes and Goes, Never Destination etc... I anticipate those to be much harder to remember all the words, but what do I  know....

Fine by me. Whatever is needed at this point for them to fully bring it on stage.

Ha. Exactly. I think it was needed a few years ago. No way he sings Whoever Said or SBWM without messing up. Bruce does it ED!

Pretty sure he's been using a teleprompter for awhile now.

I've never seen one, but he does bring up that big 'ole book of notes.  I assumed he kind of had an analog kind of thing going on for the songs where he struggles to remember the words.

I don't blame it.   My memory is the shits.   PJ is my favourite band whom I've listened to over and over again, but can I get through a single song without flubbing or forgetting words.. not really... lol

I"ve never seen him use a teleprompter for lyrics. Sometimes he uses handwritten lyrics for cover songs they don't play often.

Fine by me. When we get to that age and our memory starts getting pretty full, we’ll relate.

Yep. Plus they aren't 99% of other bands playing the same 95% of songs every night. For him to remember literally 100 different song lyrics is just not possible...whether he wrote them or not! And yes, as a 48 year old, I can't remember where I parked my car sometimes so...

The last few of years, for rarer songs, he used an iPad that scrolled like a teleprompter or karaoke program with lyrics...

He had a sheet of paper for parachutes in Cincy 2014. I believe he crumpled it up at the end and tossed it into the crowd.

I think he started using it on the 2016 tour.. Check out videos for Miami 2016 - You can see him looking down at words for Tremor Christ

I've seen him read off lyrics taped to the stage. Whatever it takes. There's no shame in it when you have this many songs and play setlists as varied as these guys do.

Exactly... how many songs in catalog?

This is not a critique, just a sample. And it is not even their song, so whatever.

I think it's cute when Ed forgets the lyrics but agree that he'll probably need help with Gigaton songs when they tour next.

When I last saw U2 Bono had a teleprompter and they play the same set list pretty much the whole tour. 95% of the time it may not be needed, but it’s there when you do.

Maybe he should go with the Vince Neil method and just hold the mic out to the audience to sing all the songs?

What’s that logo on Ed’s shirt? I’ve seen it a bunch of places and have no idea what it is. Was even a big symbol in some sci fi show I watched, The Bridge or something I think.

I'm a big Crue fan from back in the day...but damn, his voice sucks bigly.  I laughed at your comment - this is the best thing Vince can do at this point.

It's pretty impressive he has the kind of memory that he can remember the lyrics to 100 to 150 songs they could play on any given night?   I've never had that kind of memory my whole life.    I don't have photographic memory... it seems to remember broad strokes, and for some reason facts and figures...  I've always been envious of those with great memories.   I also love running into other people like me.. always helps me know I'm not the only one :)  Only other people like me seem to realize many people have shitty memory recall :)

Eddie used his notebook for lyrics in 03 when they sang sleight of hand in Melbourne. He even referenced it before they started the song. If he were to be sitting down doing a few acoustic tracks then it makes it much easier to have a stand there with lyrics. A little bit harder for the rocking up beat tracks as Ed tends to move around a bit more than he used to. There was a period of time there where I think Ed missed too many lyrics for me. Lyrics prompts are fine if we get a better quality show out of it!

The symbol is a 45 record adaptor..    He wore the same shirt at the Denver 2014 show as well...
