No love for Never Destination

Seeing a lot of reviews saying Never Destination is a dud. To each their own, but I think the song is killer. Jeff’s bass line half way through is awesome and will be great live.

What are you talking about. It slaps.  Great riff, good hook, fun song. Will be a great song played live. Probably my 4th favorite on the album.

Most songs on the album are taking time to grow on me, but I liked Never Destination instantly- great song.

  • I've been watching more tv lately than usual, but that Subway two for one commercial sounds similar to Never Destination.

They’ll play this one a lot. Easy guitar riff, mike can solo over it to fill any gaps they want to make.  Classic pj song for the stage for sure.

I’m glad to see others loving it. I should avoid reading the mainstream reviews because many have Never Dest as a bore and I don’t understand it.

No way - absolutely love this song. It’s the most “precise” song on the album. Meaning - the way in which each instrument’s part has been written - it’s almost machine like. Even Eddies approach to the melody - he’s singing in such a specific way that he never gets to wild or wanders off from what the rest of the band is doing. It’s a fascinating composition and I’m so glad they included it on the album.

Love it! A better version of Supersonic, which was a fun rocker too!

Love this song, at one point reminds me a bit of U, but just for a short while.

On first listen of the album, that riff really stoked me. This is my early favourite song on the record and will be a banger live. Stated this on another thread.
i say early favourite because that will change. Always does.

Great jam, one of my favs off the album - love the Tom Petty nod at the end of the song, whether deliberate or not

Very Supersonic but not as cheesy.  Not near the skip track Supersonic was, but just ok

It rocks, and the reaction would be a lot different if it was given a more prominent place on the track list. It could have been the opener, and if you flipped it with Who Ever Said people would have lost their minds over it and dismissed WES.

I don’t think it’s a song people would ever lose their minds over. It’s a song like mfc, stuck in a similar album position. It serves to pick up the tempo of the album well.

    I dig it!

Comes Then Goes & Superblood are my least favorites...and I still like them plenty. They made one seriously great album.

The only song I'm not getting is Buckle Up.  I am not big on the slower tunes but they don't bother me on this album like Just Breathe, Future Days, the End, etc.

I have to agree, it just feels out of place. I like Stone songs, even Mankind, but I just feel like this should have been saved for a b side release. The dark lyrics to the strange happy music are kinda cool though

I love Never Destination - Great tune! Buckle Up, however, is a different story. For those out there that pride themselves on chasing the rare songs, I think you might have to see Buckle Up on the gigaton tour because I don't know if that one makes it to another tour.

Glad to see I’m not the only one who was getting that vibe. Agree that it’s a fun change of pace in the song

Again - nothing but love for this track. One of Gigatons strengths is its sequencing. I LOVE where they placed this one. I also love the sounds they used in the intro leading up to the first chord. There whole band is on in this one.

On your next listen - listen to what Stone is doing under Mike during his solo. So so good.
