"Quick Escape" is a Soundgarden song. Change my mind.

Bad fan here. I finally had a chance to the new album. Get to track 4. Immediate goosebumps. 1/4 way through the song, I'm like "This doesn't sound like a new PJ song, this sounds like a new Soundgarden song!" Look at the name of the song: "Quick Escape."

Me = Gutted. Like, double gainer onto a picket fence, gutted.

    I'll acquiesce to the Audioslave comparison. Either way, that song was meant to be sung by Chris Cornell. I can't even hear Eddie in the Chorus anymore. My Brain just dubs in Chris Cornell's voice.

    The drum sound and all reminded me of Led Zep when I first heard it. Sounds cool and retro.
    I died. I died and you just stood there. I died and you watched. I died and you walked by and said no. I'm dead.

    I’m getting flavors of soundgarden, and led zep kashmir. Either way, the song isn’t an original idea but neither are alot of rock’s greatest songs

    That's what I'm getting.  Good call on the Beatles, I knew it reminded me of something but couldn't pinpoint it.

    Dear god. I'm not saying "Quick Escape" is literally a Soundgarden song. I'm saying that song, which was written by very close friends of Chris Cornell, sounds like a Soundgarden or Audioslave song. If it started as a Soundgarden song before he passed I wouldn't be surprised. At the very least it's a tribute to him. Even the lyrics and the way the song is sung is in the style of Chris Cornell.  Also, Quick Escape = Suicide.

    I've heard that multiple times.  Are we talking 80's Soundgarden?  I don't hear it.  Not a big fan of this one (or Retrograde).  But from now on I'll pretend it is Soundgarden and maybe start liking it better.
    19 Pearl Jam shows and still searching for Deep!
    1998 (2) - East Lansing & Auburn Hills; 2000 (2) - Tampa & Noblesville; 2003 (2) - Lexington & Noblesville; 2006 (1) - Cincinnati; 2007 (1) - Chicago (Lollapalooza); 2008 (Ed in Milwaukee); 2009 (1) - Chicago; 2010 (1) - Noblesville; 2013 (3) - San Diego & Los Angeles I & II; 2016 (Temple of the Dog in Los Angeles); 2017 (Ed at Ohana in Dana Point);

    lol Solid strategy. I'll give it a try too, because I definitely don't hear it.
