I don't know whyt, but I started listening to this sopng last week, and I keep repeating it. It is so overshadowed on Yield, but it is really a cool song.

The music is phenominal, and the words are great.

Anyway, give it another listen.....loud

Personally, I do not like this song. I have tried to listen to it, but it comes off just annoying. However, I listened to it from a live bootleg from '98, and it was a pretty cool version

I've only recently payed much attention and realised that it was fantastic. Great song with amazing lyrics.
"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"

In my opinion Yield is my least favorite album, but this song... this song is the most brilliant lyrically of all the Pearl Jam songs! It is also the most underrated song in their entire repertoire! :D

If there were no angles there'd be no sin - lucifer reference?

You know, I don't usually have outside references embedded in my poems, they're usually the poem ie inquistion. It's really a different approach to writing, adds layers. I guess I'll never be like an onion, only like a green pepper.

Yes, angles can be quite evil. Damn trapezoids... ;)
