I would swim the length of galaxies

To reach a shore of understanding…

To find a place where fear is caged 

And difference celebrated…

No longer used as fuel for hate and lies…

 

There’s no time like right now

Tomorrow’s anything but given…

There’s no time like right now

Futures live in suspension…

Until we act with intentions

Of betterment for humankind…

 

The stars align but eyes close tightly

Clinging to the past… I know the story…

If only we could overcome

The unrelenting grip of passed-down worries

And see that change is beauty…

Gravity ever pulls us downward

Towards ground and grave…

With force not known for quitting…

But hope remains the constant

That moves us forward…

Toward galaxies uncharted,

And truth remains unmined…

I know the fog is dense and vision

Clouded by thoughts of disbelief…

The lighthouse in the distance

Permanently out of reach…

Prophecies they often marvel

At that which cannot be defined…

By Science, logic, thought, and time…

It’s not the destination we seek so badly

But the journey that brings peace of mind…
