"Holding On"

I saw you climbing 
Up that tree
Right to the sun...
Never worried you would burn...
Always aware of the shine...

Holding on...I'm still trying
Holding on...to your love
Holding on... I'm still fighting
Holding on... to a memory (is not for the faint of heart)

How I long for those days
And beg forgiveness 
For the nights...
We spent apart
From each other...
Bracing for impact 
And the wreck 
That is life's elusive meaning...
Never quite what we hoped it was...

Holding on...I'm still trying

My bones, they grow more weary 
With every passing year...
Faith misplaced on selfish leanings 
Learns empathy or disappears...

Vanishing like ghost, we are becoming 
More and more what came before...
Truth is not what we've been seeking
Just a myth to keep us warm...

    Say it isn't so...I am wrong, sorry. But that one there, "Holding On",  that's rt on the head and I like it a lot... Cause we are all just holing on to each other...as best we can do.. I used to exchange with Ed at the Sony message board...which I guess is gone. I was really hoping it was still up. I posted a lot of poetry in 2000. and it was just an awesome experience. I had all of it, my posts and responses, made a great book, then I lost it all and everything I had in a fire, girl next door decided if she couldn't have it, no one else would, set it a light,  burned my hone down too.  OOPS !  I was like, Thank You for being so thoughtful about other people NOT
