Seclusion

“Seclusion”

 Blindfolded merchants

Pour gallons of sadness

Into oceans

Praying for tide…

To come and wash

Their sins and cleanse

Their minds…

 

Loosening knots of confusion

Fastened around thoughts

Once believed lost to time…

Innocence sometimes knows better

Than to abide by the rules

Set by those not worthy

Of youth’s precious glide…

 

Here we lie waiting

For green lights of permission

To live again outside…

Trapped in seclusion we wander

Across the plains of history and sigh…

Wondering what might have been

Fearful of missing out on moments

That come but once or twice…

Yesterday’s future remains endangered

But somehow, we will survive…

Thanks. That's what I was aiming for. At least this weird time in the world has afforded me a chance to write some. Appreciate the feedback.
