Why wasn't this song included on Lost Dogs?

And more to the point, why was Gremmie Out of Control even recorded...

I think the Gremmie song was recorded because of the guitar work, and because it's kindof cute and funny. I don't know why Leather man wasn't on the Lost Dogs. Maybe it's hidden on a CD if you play it backwards and at half-speed or something.

  • Yes I often wondered why it wasn't included, especially as another Yield b-side 'U' was used. Other notable missing songs are SOLAT, Breath, I Got Shit and Long Road, although they used 3 of these on the Greatest Hits. This leaves Leatherman and Long Road as the only 2 fairly poplular songs not to appear on any of the albums.

I figure that most people know, but just in case.

Gremmie was orginially put on a 96 cd release benefiting the Surfrider foundation. According to the cd jacket, Mike McCready found this obscure piece of vinyl, released in 1964 on "Hairy Records". Contains some other good covers, songs and bands, but I am not ashamed in the least to admit I bought it for the one song back in the day.

Gremmie is great and funny and I'm happy it's on lost dogs.
As for leatherman, I even didn't notice !!! I'm not a fan of that song (as well as for "U"). Long Road is maybe not on Lost Dogs and/or RVM due to rights' issue..? It was first published in 96, just after Mirrorball was released, then long road appeared, with Ed on Dead Man walking soundtrack...
