New songs during first 5 shows

How many songs off Gigaton will they play (3/18-3/26) for the first 5 shows since Gigaton drops on 3/27?  Will SBWM, DOTC and perhaps RC be the only ones?

Unless they drop a couple more songs in the next few weeks, I would suspect they would keep it to the ones you mentioned. I'd probably count on no more than 3 to 4 songs from the new album being played in any one given set until it's officially released. Now that would be some funny shit if they played Gigaton in it's entirety on the first night of the tour!  =)

Kinda hoping Pearl Jam releases the album digitally 10 day's before the March 27th street date.

I'm guessing they will play all 12 songs but spread out between the first 5 shows. Superblood Wolfmoon & Dance of the Clairvoyants will be played each night along with 3 new songs off their new album.

I’m guessing the two singles and three more songs will be played in Canada. Then maybe two more premieres at the Apollo. Then all bets are off for Baltimore!

I think they are gonna play a bunch of them... treating the Canadian shows as a warm up on the new material for the Apollo show. I have a feeling they are gonna play a lot of new songs at that show because it’s the eve of the album dropping...

    Time will tell.

Yeah, not having the album release hasn't stopped them before.  They played 7 songs each in Pittsburgh and Buffalo in 2013 before Lightning Bolt was released.

Full album was out on Itunes. Hopefully we get the same treatment before the 18th. I think you are right though anything goes from Toronto on.

Good point. But I still don't think they hold back.  As D said above, I expect the whole album to be played by the time they leave Canada.

Maybe. Took us like 14 shows or something before LB was played in full I think. Not that they would use that as a gauge since every album and tour is different. Going to be fun to see how this plays out.

Between the four shows Canada will see if not all then all but 1 or 2 Gigaton songs played live for the first time. They are likely to play 6-8 new songs a night.

Binaural released may 2000. Parting ways played 1st time 10/7/00.

Honestly, I hope they hold back and leave some mystery to it. Maybe complete the album live in the fall leg or Europe.

One of the earlier threads stated that Pearl Jam radio will be playing songs from the album before T.O .  Can’t remember where

Parting Ways was played by Ed during presets in Europe and the states well before that. That was just the first full band version.

He played it solo at presets on 6/28/00 and 9/2/00. And then played with the remaining members of Sonic Youth on 9/4/00 and 9/5/00... Kim and Thurston had a family emergency.

so it had been played 4 times at Pearl Jam shows before the band played it. I’d say that counts.
