What's the deal with that one?
What are you running from?
Taking pills to get along
Creating walls to call your own
So no one catches you?
Drifting off and doing all the things...
That we... all... do

If we look at Vitalogy and the climate surrounding the recording of that album, Ed seemed to be battling many things. Record companys, ticketmaster, stalkers etc.

I think Foxy mop is connected to bugs in that i am convinced that bugs is about female groupie stalkers ("ill just stop now, ill become naked and with them ill become one").

So the repeated lines of "spanking thats the only thing i like so much" could be what eddie hears from these young girls who just want eddie to pound them.

Theres the reference in Satan's Bed to this as well.

    This is just my interpretation.

i have this notion that i read somewhere that the voices are all tapes of patients receiving psychiatric treatment....so thats where the explanation of the person who asks "would you kill yourself?" , followed by the "yes" answer....

Try listening to this song when youre falling asleep or alone in the dark.
    VERY freaky song.
    Brilliant

Which was, of course, the original failed attempt at Revolution No. 9.

This is 100% correct as the video was played for us in our high school psychology class. I have seen and heard it myself. It was originally one of those Dateline or 20/20 or 60 Minute type shows. Vitalogy was around a year old when I saw the video, and the familiarity I felt when I watched it was eerie.

I think it's a successful attempt at Revolution 9. What other band's in the 90's would throw a track like that on the album? Some people don't like the dialogue (I do) but take it away and make it an instrumental and it's actually a great track.
