  • It think it talked about being a driving rocker with a sick Mike solo.

Actually sounds like a cross between Batman theme song and the Hartford Whalers theme song

    From that Variety review
shifts directly into the similarly propulsive “Super Blood Wolf Moon,” featuring a sizzling Mike McCready guitar solo
Can't wait to hear that solo!

I posted this in the other thread
  • Well, for those who worried that DotC was representative of a "new" Pearl Jam, I think the Superblood Wolfmoon clip makes it clear that the old PJ is still around. Definitely a throwback sound -- I agree with whoever said it has a Lost Dogs vibe.

Pretty sure I'll end up liking DotC more as a whole, but I'm psyched about the variation in the first two songs. Makes me feel like the guys put a lot of time and effort into this album, and that we're going to get a record that doesn't get all muddled together like LB does.

Getting some hitchhiker lost dogs vibes.
My initial thought exactly.  I dig it!
  • How is it?  I'm on a computer and am prevented from listening to it.  I miss the old days when you didn't need a cell phone & apps to listen to new Pearl Jam :o

So someone with a better ear than I have musically maybe able to answer this but is this not the same chorus twice over? It just repeats at the 18 second mark right?

Oh wow, it absolutely is, ha! This makes me feel much better because I didn't like how repetitive it was.

Definitely the outro to the song, I can definitely see this riff being what drives the verses, with a distortion heavy banger of a chorus mixed in. I'm excited about this for sure!

    Thought the same thing
  • I didn't love DOTC the first time I heard it, and now I totally do, whereas I totally dig this one on first listen...nice little riff (sure, I wish it were more distorted, but those days are long gone), can't wait to hear Mike's solo on this one!

agreed. I know it' sonly 40 seconds but from that it sounds incredibly cheesy.
