In no way am I defending his actions, but it always strikes me which artists take the hits, and which ones skirt by...

Matt Good, Ryan Adams, John Mayer to an extent...
and yet Led Zeppelin is pretty well documented for enjoying the company with young/underage girls/women...

I'm not trying to start arguments or debates, here. I own albums from each artist I just mentioned...it's just always something that I wondered about.

and you still can be. he's just an asshole like we always knew. nothing more. his ex admitted everything they did was consensual. she just doesn't like it in hindsight. and he cheated. so do many assholes. nothing to get "cancelled" over.

They decide how much the artist is worth, and whether or not it's more convenient to take them to task for their crimes/misdemeanours. People seem to have no problem with Pete Townshend, for the most part, for example. Personally, I don't really let the actions of the performer in their private life impact my enjoyment of their art. Having said that, there are degrees to the stuff. I know I will never listen to lostprophets again (never did really to begin with), because I just can't separate that one, that's a bridge too far. I guess everyone has a different threshold with this stuff really.
