Halfway through April of 03 and it's fascinating to listen to the evolution of this tour. They're so tight but what I do remember very well is when the tour turns into a powder keg of anti-war, it's as if they were watching the news and the absurdity build up to the point where each show was a literal reaction. It's fascinating how they held themselves back in 2016 and 2018, age brings chill?

Nashvill 03 has an amazing version of Better Man where the band plays a snippet of Wild Thing....it's so fun. No clue why it happened there and I'm not sure it happened again but it was so great. Look it up.

I need to give Uke Songs a spin. It’s been a long time.

I saw an interview with Jeff saying indoor events aren’t happening this year. Let’s hope 2022 is in the cards.

I missed my third day posting on this thread. One of the busiest days imaginable. I need some headphones and some more sleep. Exhaustion as an adult is so much different than it used to be.

Pearl Jam 03 is a fascinating live evolution. I was going for all of April and now that they have me hooked looks like I'm just going to go with all of 03. These shows are incredible.

It occurred to me, the last show I saw before the world shut down was Hootie and the Blowfish. Fun but not the note I want to go out on. I've been looking for shows like crazy.

Having my kids take swim lessons and it’s fascinating how scared they are of going under. It’s a life skill and they need it but man it’s a challenge to acclimate them. I remember all the fun I had swimming as a kid and none of the terror. Clearly I was too young when I learned but it’s just another parental eye opener.

Finishing April 03 and man, what a month. I'd love to hear some comps of other amazing months and/or legs. The setlist expands. The shows are spot on fire. It's fascinating that this month ends with the Nassau show....I loved when "Down" was a fixture. I also love the Love Boat Captain into Wishlist, such a cool concept and smooth integrated song choice.

Finishing that Nassau show was one of the most interesting PJ shows I can remember. I've heard those infamous Dylan v Crowd shows when he plugged in but this was something else, this was art fighting against politics. "Rockin" ending with Eddie chanting USA...they could've gone friendly after "Bushleager" instead they went into "Fortunate Son" and then "Rockin...."

    Also, it's hot. Stay safe.

I want to know when the Home Shows Streaming comes to Chicago what are we going to get? 2013 show in entirety? All 5 Wrigley shows over an extended time? A band signed baseball as the buyable memorabilia? Will that 2013 show be this year's vault? Yes, I know we're waiting on last year's but whatever.

    Happy Record Store Day.

Foo Fighters sold out MSG last night. Such a beautiful thing. NBA Playoffs at full capacity. These things have zero to do with my attendance, I'm just here for all the back to normal.

Neil Young and Crazy Horse are back in the studio. I missed seeing him twice, once due to my grandmother passing (I had amazing seats for a solo outing) and once for Crazy Horse a Feb snow storm stopped me from getting to the venue. But I'm hoping I'll catch them. I love Crazy Horse! I just love the sound. Covid gave me a bucket list of musicians to see, NYCH is #2.

Out of boredom and excitement I keep checking band's web sites hoping the come out with something regarding shows this year or next. Some activity. I do get worried that these variants (not the poster kind) are going to muck things up again. Fingers crossed.

I spend so much time listening to live shows that I rarely get to the albums (especially post Yield) but man Binaural and Riot Act are so experimental. I was listening to Riot Act, "You Are," specifically and my wife came down and asked "what is this?" and it hit me that a lot of that album is so different...and I mean that in the best possible way. I always loved half of Riot Act, but now I'm seeing it as a whole and it's just an amazing album. I can't say I love every song but they all work together so well.

I loved Jeff's message about Joni Mitchell's Blue. While I can't say it's a favorite I love hearing about artists' inspirations adn find it fascinating that it was the most played album early on in PJ's development. There is something awesome about learning how musicians think and what attracts them. I always knew the band were diverse artists, but I just assumed they skewed harder in those earlier years.

Been doing a deep dive into "Immortality" lately and I'm loving the collision of sounds in the live versions. It's such a soft contemplative song that turns into a dervish in the live format - the entire band coming to life and letting Matt take it out with a vengeance. Not sure what ending I love more, this or "Black's" jam out.

The bummer of not having Lost Dogs reissued on vinyl is being unable to listen to the original iterations. Sure, I could find a cd player or stream it but it's just different now. I listen to all my live stuff through streaming (unless it's the vaults) and I'm just seeing so much going on in these studio versions. The fascinating aspect of the band's (dogs, cause they're not all B Sides) is that they have great great great songs that just didn't fit on albums (All Night, Down, Fatal, Otherside, Hard to Imagine...I could go on and on) then there are true B Sides (you know solid songs that are fun but not album cuts - U, Leatherman, etc) and then just the songs that have no home. Just so many great songs. We are lucky.
