Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder goes to bat for the Chicago Cubs
Take Eddie Vedder out to the ball game.
The Pearl Jam frontman, 55, lived out every baseball fan’s fantasy, enjoying a four-day vacation in Mesa, Arizona, last week with his beloved Chicago Cubs.
Vedder, an Illinois native, was photographed in the outfield before taking a swing at home plate.
With pitchers and catchers set to report for spring training next week, the Cubs’ quest to return to World Series glory begins.
In 2016, Vedder watched the Cubs clinch the National League pennant, sitting in team president Theo Epstein’s private suite. Chicago went on to defeat the Cleveland Indians for the World Series championship, ending the club’s 108-year drought.
“I’m totally speechless,” Vedder told CBS Chicago after the win. “I’m in a state of excited shock.”
