these auds are so good it would be a bit unfortunate if they went that way, unless they are willing to up the game on Vault, do it more frequently and then only have 1 or 2 be vinyl a year.

my good friend from college got Piss Bottle Men, but before he bought the bootleg he was actually early on in some usenet or aol groups that did tape trees.  He snagged both of these shows and dubbed them for me.  I wore the hell out of those maxell IIs

Love that Act of Love boot. One of my favorites.
  • I love how bootlegs say "Made in Italy" or wherever. I remember going into a store and asking to see a Grateful Dead bootleg, and the guy correcting me by saying, "It's an import." Yeah...an "import" recorded in my hometown, USA and burned on a CD in Europe. Sure.

One of the greatest experiences ever. Two of the best nights of my life!.
Can you imagine coming home to find the letter below in your mailbox?
    What band does that?
What fan club sends free tickets?
Yes, I am very happy and appreciate my 10 club membership. I grabbed
this image off the internet for show and tell today.

  • From this period, I dig the Secret Gig boot that I have (Showbox '96) that I have.  Vocal heavy audio but good.  No Code debut set list is key

technically speaking, the vast majority of these from the late 1980s through mid 1990s were in fact printed in foreign countries and shipped into the united states, it was a technical loophole around the RIAA.  Most of these original bootlegs were not burned on cdrs as they would become.

The story gets better. My wife and I were leaving the night of the 1st show. We noticed all these folks in suits sitting near us had these  backstage passes stuck to the inside of their coats.
I had to have one, so I asked people after the show can I please have it if you do not want it? I got two of them. Walking out we notice all these people with with passes lined up to go backstage.
I came up with a plan. The next night I put on a suite and tie. My wife a dress, etc. We looked like music exec. We walked in to the Moore, and I flashed my pass to a Seattle cop, and we were in the show.
One of my proudest moments was to sneak into a PJ show at the Moore. Went backstage after the show too. Met Jeff and his parents. Had a beer with Mike, and I think his parents were there too. We walked out, and I turned left instead of right. Directionally challenged. Suddenly we are backstage. It was insane. We were alone with a rack of what looked like 100 guitars. It was surreal and beautiful. Then someone showed up, and freaked. I told him no worries. I respect, and we would never touch anything. They were the most beautiful guitars I have ever seen, and I did not touch. It would not be so cool to do this in these times, but in 95 it was the shit to sneak into the moore and see pj with Neil Young, meet jeff's folks, and drink a Rolling Rock with Mike. :) Below is a pic of the pass. I got it off the internet today.

Open bar. Very overwhelming. Jeff and Mike were working the room. Talking to as many folks, and simply saying hello, Hi, how are you? Thanks for coming type stuff. Who does that? Hi I am Jeff, and this is mom and dad. One of the greatest and most humbling moments ever.

My story about that show is not as good, but still entertaining- and a great ballast to the backstage one.  I spent the entire show in the alley behind the Moore in the rain because, although I loved the band and had already seen them several times by then, the thought of joining a fan club for anything never crossed my mind.  There was a big bouncer dude with a shaved head manning the door behind the theater.  I talked to him for a bit and asked if there was any way I could get in because I REALLY WAS a fan!  He was pretty gruff and shook his head so I stayed outside and listned to the show from aside a big green dumpster.  At one point these rather cute 90's girls, soaking wet in their jeans and flannels, walked up and engaged him in conversation for a bit.  It went like, this- he would ask a question then lots of giggling and then he would say something that made him seem cool and then more giggling.  Before long, he looked down the alley both ways and then right at me before he opened the door and shuffled them in.  I looked at him and shrugged like, "What, really?"  He just smiled smugly back.  I joined the 10C not too long after.

I laugh about it now but I think the people in that room have 5 digit numbers, not 6...

Hi, I host a Pearl Jam Podcast. We go back to some of the classic shows in their history and break down the entire setlist front to back. From historic perspective, to performances, to setlist construction, to fan stories. We do our best to capture the magic that is their live act and help you relive those memories, or if you weren't there, maybe turn you on to a show you've never heard before.

Live On 4 Legs can be found on Apple Podcast, Spotify and any other major podcast platform. But please support our website and check out the episodes archived there. Oh, and the Concertpedia as well (for you Five Horizons and Two Feet Thick fans, we've picked up where they've left off)

That was the only one I own by Dr. Gig, and I own over 50+ unofficial Pearl Jam CD's. KTS & Oxygen records were my favourites, before the internet day's.
