I like that coldplay song called Vertigo. It rules major donkey keyster.

Here are the lyrics. So beautiful.

    Far
    We've been traveling far
    Without a home
    But not without a star
    Free
    Only want to be free
    We huddle close
    Hang on to a dream

On the boats and on the planes
    They're coming to America
    Never looking back again
    They're coming to America

Home, don't it seem so far away
    Oh, we're traveling light today
In the eye of the storm
In the eye of the storm

Home, to a new and a shiny place
Make our bed, and we'll say our grace
    Freedom's light burning warm
    Freedom's light burning warm

    Everywhere around the world
    They're coming to America
    Every time that flag's unfurled
    They're coming to America

Got a dream to take them there
    They're coming to America
Got a dream they've come to share
    They're coming to America

    They're coming to America
    They're coming to America
    They're coming to America
    They're coming to America
    Today, today, today, today, today

    My country 'tis of thee
    Today
    Sweet land of liberty
    Today
    Of thee I sing
    Today
    Of thee I sing
    Today
    I'm lost, I'm no Guide
  • I love All or None.

The lyrics is just so true!

To myself I surrender,... to the one I'll never please

there was a huge thread about this song on the old board. there is a ton of love for All Or None. :)
I died. I died and you just stood there. I died and you watched. I died and you walked by and said no. I'm dead.

it's the one song that convinced my brother to start listening to pearl jam...
i was just playing it on guitar one time and he thought it sounded beautiful and now riot act is one of his favorite albums ever..

i love it too. i think it's one of their best songs :)

Funny, I'm listening to it right now.

Amazing song on both the album as well as live. What the hell is it about Pearl Jam album closers? This probably ranks #2 behind Release in my book.
I figured it was time to change my sig.

  • i dont know about second, indifference is pretty f*in sweet, but all or none may be the only pj album closer that is the best song on its record...?

i think it is signifies everything they do right as a band.. mixing lyrics and musical harmonies through texture and catchy rhythms.. i'm hoping the new album is made in the tone of this tune, combining both electric and acoustic sentiments all over the place!

damn now i am getting the new album fever when i know there is so much more i should be worrying about!
    i'm a thief... and a liar...

    see Ed's church?--he's breathing fire.....
  • Such a beautiful song... Stone once again comes up with a thought provoking riff. I can't get enough of All or none ,especially the Benaroya Hall version. Mike takes it to another level....
  • Yah this riff is so awesome. The opener. Especially with the ascending hammer on part. What a wicked song.
I miss you already, I miss you always
I miss you already, I miss you all day

until he fucks it up ;)

That riff is one of stone's finest ever.

i think LBC is the best overall song on the album actually.. more single-quality work.. all or none just won't work as a single like LBC does.. but i won't argue if you say its the best :)

If you count immortality as the last song on Vitalogy (stupid mop isn't really a song now is it? ;) ) than i'd say no.

i agree with your second statement too. Very yield era style writing (all-be-it more depressing). I have the distinct feeling that the new record will sound an awful lot like Vitalogy... except more polished and solid on the whole.

Well, I don't know what it'd be like if Pearl Jam made another Vitalogy, but either way their next album will be sweet!!
