Ed once said (Mamasan)....
Let me share an experience....2004 trip to Argentina and Chile to trek through Patagonia. My wife/life and I planned for 10 days from Buenos Aires to El Calafate all the way to Ushuaia (La Fin Du Monde--End of the World). Unbelievable scenery, amazing hikes/camping, a trip I will never forget....
Just before I left PJ had released 'Man of the Hour' and I did not get a chance to see "Big Fish" so the song was completely new to me. It became my mantra so to speak as I would listen on my (this is before Itunes and MP3's were the norm) Discman as much as I could and while trekking and hiking have the soung echo through my conscience..."and the Man of the Hour has taken his final bow...."
This constant listen/interpret phase has left me in the absolute glorious stage of having this very song bring me back to Patagonia every time I hear it.
My "Man of the Hour" involves whomever created those mountains and vistas that I experienced on that trip!
"goodbye for now"
(I am still there!)
"to the power of music"
Anyone else have this kind of connection??

the lyrics to 'nothingman' - although written & released long beforehand, describe almost perfectly word for word; image to image; to me, the breakup of my childrens father & myself in 2000 due to his heroin addiction.
to this day, i cannot hear this song without thinking of him, or what he could have done with his life, and the regrets he probably feels himself.
ive described ed's knack of 'getting into our head', the way he 'knows what we are thinking', puts 'our thoughts into words' to people many times.
one of the things i love best about them - their power to connect to each and every one of us.
