PJ drags their own speaker system from show to show.  They tweak things to the shape, arrangement, and whatever of the venue.  

The best seats are where one of the below long johns (or short) are aligned directly with your face, more or less

pj take care of the side stage folks for sure.  The last picture below is mine and is crappy. The rest are from the internets.

it all depends,most large line array speaker clusters are tuned and the sound is steered through DSP for best coverage while taking into consideration the acoustics of the venue.  I typically find the best sound to be right near the sound/lighting booth as that's what the mixer/audio engineer is hearing.

They fine tune the acoustics prior to the show.  They adjust the placement and angle and the volume/Whatnots before the show

so I'm sure they have people running all over the place with walkie talkies

Karrie handles all the monitor mixing for the band's stage monitors and IEMs , not the FOH sound.  While most of it is set before the show, theres typically still someone monitoring the front of house sound and tweeking levels and such during the show
