Binaural.....

I love this album, but since i joined this wonderful forum i've noticed it's been getting some bad vibes from some of you, my fellow PJ fans. This li'l thread is for all of you who don't like Binaural.

What is it about this album that you guys don't like? this isn't a negative thread, bashing the band. i honestly want to know why you guys aren't too keen.......

i think the reason why most people doesn´t like it, is just because the album is an experiment, it´s too electronical for some people. in my opinion it is (like all pj records) a good experiment!!!

I should say I do still listen to the album but I do have problems with it. I'm being very blunt here.

I'll go through the songs to explain:

1)Breakerfall- OK song, decent intro, sounds like it was produced very badly, mumbled lyrics, actually the lyrics were quite poor for something penned by Ed. Kinda Dark.
2)God's Dice- All over the place powerchords... it just doesn't sound good, very repetitive and kinda mumbled. Kinda Dark.
3)Evacuation- Decent lyrics, poor song, another one that's all over the place... really bad chorus,,... with progressions and whatnot. Kinda Dark.
4)Light Years- Great song. Kinda Dark, but whimsical.
5)Nothing As it Seems.. great guitar, very different, but not a fantastic single, would've been a decent b-side.
6) Thin Air- It was like Stone was trying to make an acoustic Last Kiss, with some more cheesy lyrics and not that good of a melody.
7)Insignificance- Probably the best song on the album besides light years.
8)Of The Girl- Very repetitive, chorus is kinda cool, but the verses are weak, poor lyrics,... kinda boring.
9)Grievance- OK song.
10)Rival- Poor Beat-Up Lyrics with an awful musical piece behind it... I think this is by far the worst PJ song ever.... besides the Vitology throwaways like bUGs.
11) Soon Forget- Good song, poor production, have to turn up my stero whenever this comes on cause I can't hear it well if I don't.
12) Parting Ways- Cool song... poor production, could've been shaped into a much much better recording.

Overall I think it was a poor attempt at an album for a band with as much talent as they have and when I heard the songs that could've been on there (ie sad) I was pissed, because it would've fit well on the album.
