    It was written about the passing of someone very close to Jeff. The song was originally entitled Letter to the Dead, and it was originally on the Binaural tracklist.

    It's just common knowledge i guess, and also, the song 'other side' on lost dogs is like the second part to Sad (Letter to the dead)

    Aren't you referring to Other Side? Jeff wrote this about his parents relationship if I'm not mistaking.
