It's like death.......death of love. This song still makes me sad.

  • I love this song. My girlfriend and I broke up a couple of years ago and the pain we were going through towards the end of the relationship is described beautifully in this song. We were both trying to pretend we still loved each other but we knew what was coming.
"She knows there is no success like failure
And that failure's no success at all."

"Don't ya think its sometimes wise not to grow up."

"Cause life ain't nothing but a good groove
A good mixed tape to put you in the right mood."
  • I love this song, I think it´s a great ending for Binaural...I wonder how it would sound to open a show...
...can´t wear my mask, your first my last...
  • i would love to see this song live, its great on touring band, "And though he's to big a man to say there's a fear they'll soon be parting ways" what a line

It is a sad song. However, after Eddie's talk about the "curse" of Alive, I see many sad songs as catalysts for the removal of curses. Over time the artistry of a song will be more important than the relevance to a particular person's life.

This first appeared in the 96 Barcelona Soundcheck I believe (this soundcheck was one of the best ever). It had totally different lyrics, but still had the somber overtones the song now has

Funny, most of the Binaural record has to do with loss. "Light Years",loss of life. "Grievance",loss of personal freedoms. "Parting Ways",loss of love.

Good point. Isn't NAIS about loss of self to drugs? Sleight of Hand loss to corporate world...

The whole album has a darker feel to it. I love it.
