so my thinking is as the title suggests . lets talk about the music . or the kind of shows we fans might wish for this time. there should be very small number of new comers so really it opens up the possibility of anything goes. your thoughts.
This most certainly should open up the possibility of deeper cuts played due to the fact that it appears that these shows are going to be mostly attended by 10c members. But I mainly expect this to be a tour truly promoting Gigaton. Which I am perfectly fine with. We are long over due for some new music.
I hope so. One of the things I've really enjoyed since around the 2013 tour is they seem to sprinkle in rarities/covers throughout the entire set. Back in the day it was mostly reserved for the encore(s) which were shorter back then. I feel like I cross off more holy grail songs in the last 6 years than I did in my first 16 years of going to shows.
agree i realize the new album will be the focus but just hoping to really play a lot of songs not frequently heard as i feel they have so many of their fans in the building.

We would all hope so, seeing that there are going to be a lot less "casual" fans in the building than usual.
Probably not. Looking back quickly to the prior shows I've been to on album launch tours, they've played most of the new records (8 songs from Avocado, 6 from Backspacer, 7 from LB). And the 2018 shows definitely seemed to lean more into repeating the staples than they had in the past. I'd bet on a heavy mix of Ten, Vs. and Gigaton, with a couple of album cuts and maybe one per night "for the serious collectors".
I doubt it. Its assumed everyone is a fan in the building regardless of how many 10C seats there are and I don't think it'll make them lean more into rare stuff.
The first leg will definitely skew towards new album cuts. As they move through Europe they'll know what works and what doesn't. By the time they get to the 2nd U.S. leg they'll have narrowed down the Gigaton songs and made room for deep cuts and other old faves. But as it is an election year look for more politically oriented songs to make it into the 2nd leg setlists.
I expect 5 new songs per show most likely. I'd like to see the sacrifices come in the form of overplayed good songs like rvm, e flow and basically at this point just cut LB down to 1 random track.

LB will be cut down to one track but it won't be random. Lightning Bolt (the song) has entered Unthought Known territory. They seem to really like playing that song.

Unfortunate. I enjoy tracks 1, and 7 to 10 the most. But hey I'm cool with whatever. That frees up a few spots for new songs. Better rotation and the usual 2 or 3 deep cuts is good w me.

I just want them to have more fun with the setlist and rotating through the "played alot" songs a bit more.
Replace Do The Evolution with Last Exit or Breakerfall sometimes. If you play Jeremy, maybe skip Evenflow. Etc.
