  • i have heard of many bands giving money for each ticket sold(usually $1) but i have heard of any bands that have ever donated $5 from each ticket sold.

    The thing that the 3rd generation of rock learned best from gen 1 and 2 was that talk is cheap.  Whether I agree or disagree with any band in how they approach their charitable efforts I applaud that they ACTUALLY do it versus pay it lip service.
    His eminence has yet to show.

    My view is that if you had a choice to pay or not then it would be your donation. If it's mandatory it becomes part of the ticket price and therefore it's money the band chooses to donate.

    You do have a choice, if you don’t pay, you don’t go...but I do believe you are technically correct.
