High School English Project

I have a poetry project for my Honors English class, which is due at
the end of the month. I was hoping to use a Pearl Jam song that
uses the literary device, synecdoche. I am having trouble and was wondering if anyone knew of a song or a poem I could use. Since it
is for school, it would be better if there weren't any swear words.

Synecdoche: Using a part of something to stand in for the whole
thing.

Example: Check out my new wheels (look at my new car)

Thanks!

You might want to check out "Blood." It's the only song which contains a synecdoche that I can think of atm.

spin the black circle is the forst that comes to mind... tremor christ is another one, and present tense is a terrific song that could be what you need.

  • Thank you for your time and help. Spin the Black Circle will work perfectly.
I feel very stupid that I didn't think of it to start with. The synecdoche is even in the title!
